When someone dies they instantly become wrapped in gold, remembered as a saint and a gift to the world. Acquaintances and strangers profess their admiration, their love and their grief over the loss of the soul they never knew, but wish they had.
I’ve always found this odd.
Why does it take someone’s death to recognize the preciousness of their life?
Why can’t we celebrate each other now, appreciate each other now, get to know each other now?
My death, your death will come all of a sudden, without warning, so why waste another day alive not profess our love?
Today, reach out to one person you know or maybe don’t know very well, and tell them all the things you love and respect about them.
We have a voice for this very reason: to express our love for each other.
