Locked Out. {Poem}

Do you ever feel like you’re locked out of your self?
Like you’re not allowed in until you say the password,
Or you do the right thing,
But you’re not quite sure what that is?
It feels like there’s someone standing guard
At the gates of your heart,
But it’s not you.
And you feel like a foreigner in your own shoes
Uncomfortable in your skin,
Itching the rash of your sins.
Is this really how I’ve lived?
Forced into the shoes of reflection.
These don’t fit me anymore,
It’s time to take em off and heal these sores.
Then you realize,
Standing there barefoot and bold,
Change is the key that’ll unlock your soul
And let you back in
To who you were
When you first walked through the door. ~Rebecca
