~The End {Poem}

And then one day, I woke up and I don’t remember how or when it happened, but the pain and the grief are distant memories. Lightness remains — new hope. That life I lived is now a dream, sitting on the shelf. I am living outside of it, ready to begin writing a new story of this life, now:

~The End

The end of a story lived and told

The end of a life now grey and old

The end of an anger unable to see

That forgiveness would behold

The end of a fear I was desperate to flee

The end of grief dull and aching

Of a love, young and forsaken

The end of a journey deserved to be

To answer the questions yearning in me

The end of a self that is now rewritten

Ready to begin a new story to live in.
