The Lonely in Me Sees the Lonely in You.

Namaste used to be a word I misunderstood and mispronounced.

The light in me sees the light in you.

Hmmm, ok, I’ll go with that, even though I don’t really get it.

And then–

I started saying I love you (silently) as I said Namaste, and it all changed; I understood it.

We sit, hands together at the center of our trunk.
Namaste.
I open my eyes, they open theirs; eyes dripping sweat from the darkest place.

I’m not alone, am I?  They say, without speaking.

No. You are not. The loneliness in me recognizes the loneliness in you. You are not alone.

We recognize the immeasurable darkness in each other that we try and cover up every day.

The light in me sees the light in you.

We create the light, together.
It sparks when we connect in our vulnerability, accepting the black hole in each of us that we will never go away.

We make peace with the loneliness in that moment.
That’s where the light comes from, that we see in each other.

Namaste. ~Rebecca

  1. WOW! Thank you!
I just found your web page from reading your article “How to Love an Empath”. I have felt so all alone for so long, not being able to express all the feelings that constantly overflow in and through me. Your words have brought clarity and a sense of relief…I am not alone. And then I read this and again…I’m not alone.
    Thank you!
